Task
«We want to lauch this new Mexican GIN , made with mexican ingredients like zempasuchlt, lime, and the clasic juniper and coriander seed.
The logo definitely should look like Gin, should have at the same time this vintage style and have this mexican origin, this mexican touch. must include xoloescuncle dog. The label must look clean. The logo must be urban, can have some mexican prehispanic touches, colourfull without being folkloric.»
Solution
We built the identity around the xolo — a strong, iconic symbol tied to Mexico’s heritage.
Instead of going loud or decorative, we drew the dog in a vintage, print-like style and used small, controlled details (including a subtle traditional headdress element) to hint at the roots without turning the label into a costume.
The rest of the design stays clean and structured: clear typography, strong hierarchy, and enough negative space to keep it premium and “London Dry” in feel.
The result is a label that reads as classic gin at first glance — then reveals its Mexican character through the icon, tone, and carefully chosen color accents.
